Global Justice Oxford is looking for a new volunteer publicity/communications officer. Ideally we would like someone who can:
- keep our website updated
- update our Facebook page
- run our Twitter account
- write occasional press releases and send them out
- write blog posts
But we would be very happy with someone who could just do one or two of those things – for example, perhaps you’re happy penning a press release but the thought of Twitter makes you shudder. Or maybe you’re a social media guru but you don’t fancy updating our WordPress site. We’re happy to hear from people with a range of skills and interests.
If there are things you’d like to try but you don’t know much about them, we may be able to offer a bit of training. Our former communications officer Kate Griffin has now moved to Sheffield (which is why she’s not our comms officer any more!) but she may be able to offer training on the website, on the social media accounts and/or on press releases via phone or Skype.
This volunteer role is a really good opportunity to gain some solid experience doing comms in a low-pressure, friendly and supportive group. If you’re interested, please do get in touch!
