One World Fair and Green Fair

14 November 2016 by kate Leave a Comment

In Oxford we are lucky enough to have two great events in a short space of time, and Global Justice Oxford will be running a stall at both!

The One World Fair is held on Saturday 19th November in Oxford Town Hall. There will be stalls for fairtrade goods, human rights organisations, environmental groups and much more! This is run by Oxfam, and we will be there all day with campaign information, leaflets and all sorts.

The Green Fair will be held on Saturday 3rd December and is run by the green party, promising to be “a celebration of all things green”! Again we’ll be there with a stall all day so come and find us to find out all about our group.

Hope to see you there, and as always check out our events page to see what we’re planning!

“Probably carcinogenic”

19 May 2016 by kate Leave a Comment

Have you seen Monsanto weedkiller in your local garden centre? You might have noticed the label looking a little different.

Monsanto’s flagship weedkiller, Roundup, is made from a chemical called glyphosate that the World Health Organisation has found to probably cause cancer. Yet its use is now so widespread that traces are found in one out of every three loaves of bread in the UK. via http://monsanto.globaljustice.org.uk/

So Global Justice has asked activists to relabel the packages they find. You can find some media coverage below:

The Herald Scotland

Horticulture Week

Ethical Consumer

Get invovled at http://monsanto.globaljustice.org.uk/ and if you’re in the Oxford area why not pop in to one of our meetings? New members always welcome!
