Lobbying Bill is open door to corporate takeover

26 September 2013 by kate Leave a Comment

WDM’s head of policy and campaigns, Hannah Griffiths, has published a response to the Lobbying Bill currently being debated in Parliament. She argues that it leaves an “open door” for lobbyists to get access to the Government because the impact of the lobbyist register being proposed is so tiny.

Even more worryingly, the Bill attempts to change the definition of what counts as “election campaigning” in the lead-up to an election, in a way that threatens to silence many campaign groups (such as WDM) in election years.
