Come along to contribute to planning for autumn campaigning and lobbying of Yorkshire and Humber MEPs on the issue of TTIP.

The labour Party European Parliament spokes-person, Judith Kirton –Darling MEP will speak and answer questions on the TTIP negotiations (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership) , which were recently debated in the European Parliament and which are currently ongoing in Brussels.

Judith is one of the new generation of labour MEP’s in the European Parliament and was elected to the European Parliament in 2014 having previously worked for the Trade Unions in Brussels .

This will be a practical meeting for organising group activities for the Wortley Hall stall (South Yorkshire Festival) on 15th August, plans for Autumn campaigning, plus a bit of a social. Open to all. We welcome new members!

The aim of our gala is to provide a free fun day full of entertainment for all of the family including a parade & stalls. Info

We will be holding a stall at this event focusing on the food campaign, and will be giving away free seeds!

An event with guest speaker Fatima Ismael, a Nicaraguan agronomist engineer, fair trade expert and experienced social campaigner.

Stalls: Coffee imported by Twin Café from Miraflor, near Estelí, our twin town in Nicaragua, will be served and there will be stalls by Barra Organics (organic greengrocers), Good Taste (formerly Fair Grounds), Twin Cafe and Zaytoun (olive oil from Palestine).

Talk with Fatima Ismael. “We really need to promote, grow and multiply the number of Fairtrade consumers because our producers are once again in a deep crisis caused by the effects of climate change. Climatic changes have affected our co-operative’s growth. I wish to get across to all our supporters in the UK that we need them now more than ever before.”
