Fantastic response from Liverpool City Centre to our Bankers Anonymous Stunt – Thanks!

June 26, 2013 by merseyside

WDM stall in Liverpool City Centre on 22nd June 2013 aroused great interest and support from the people of Liverpool. At least 125 Bankers Anonymous Cards were signed to MPs to ask them to put pressure on George Osborne to thoroughly regulate the bankers and stop allowing them to speculate on food commodities that are driving up the price of food and sending millions of   poor people into hunger in some areas of the world as well as in parts of the UK

Successful Trojan horse event in local paper

June 21, 2012 by merseyside

We are delighted with the  very positive public  response to  our  ‘consciousness raising’ event in Crosby   recently.  Over 150 WDM Rio +20  campaign cards were signed and  passed to local MPs requesting them to get our message to Nick Clegg as our re

presentative at the Rio summit.   He is not to sign any new ‘Green’ deal that would lead to the deterioration of the environment

and take away resource contol and  use from local communities around the world. It is

great that one of our group met Bill  Esterson  our local MP  and had his  photo taken with the Trojan Horse.  Bill promised to  meet  with the group at the earliest possible opportunity to discuss the issues raised. How could I nearly forget to mention the successful  ‘hit’  we had in getting our Trojan horse in the Champion.  Well, we did have the photo  and a generous story about the event too!  Great work by all those responsible for that!

Thanks to all the people who supported WDM by signing lobbying cards to  their MPs raising their concerns about the “green” new deals on environmental  resource  use at Rio +20 in June.
