Calling all teachers!

October 27, 2012 by glasgow

Growing Change… in our schools

A free CPD event for teachers of Social Studies, Science, English and RMPS in and around Glasgow, focusing on Interdisciplinary Learning through Global Citizenship. “Growing Change” is a documentary about the global food crisis. Showing what is happening in Venezuela, it demonstrates what is possible when communities, not corporations, start to take control of food based on the principles of social justice and sustainability.

Wednesday 7 November 4.30 – 6.30pm, GMAC, Trongate, Glasgow

This is an opportunity to join other teachers to review and discuss the documentary and how it might be used to meet the CfE Experiences and Outcomes and address unit outcomes within Scotland’s new National Qualifications. Fairly traded refreshments will help the discussions along!  Contact wdmglasgow@gmail.com to register your interest in joining us.

Save the polar bears…and the people too

June 13, 2012 by glasgow

We’ll be at Gibson Street Gala on Sunday 17th June with our marvellous lucky dip – giving you the opportunity to save the polar bears for real! And this year, in a new twist, you can save houses and trees too – if we don’t get a grip on climate change soon it won’t just be the polar bears who are drowning. Come along, have a go at the lucky dip, get a free sweetie, and send a letter to your MP whilst you’re at it.

Gibson Street Gala, Sunday 17th June, 12-5pm

Oh, and did we mention that we’ll have a life-size polar bear?
