International climate change talks – 6th December 2013

November 13, 2013 by GJ Cleveland

Hear about the international climate change talks in Warsaw through the eyes of Ronagh Craddock.  Ronagh has been attending the talks representing the  UK Youth Climate Coalition (UKYCC).   .

Ronagh spoke to the group at a meeting in December.

When: Friday 6th December

Where: Emmanuel Church Hall, Saltburn

Time: 7.30 – 9.00pm

To mark the start of the climate talks in Warsaw, Danny Chivers, who visited Saltburn in 2011 has made a new video with the excellent film-maker Richard Roaf and New Internationalist magazine. They are working on a series of friendly, lively videos to make climate change easier to understand.  The first one has just been launched at http://nononsensevideos.org/climate-science – it’s their attempt to explain the basics of climate change science in just four minutes, using a top hat, a bathtub and a van full of gibbons.  This one’s straight-up explaining the basics of why climate change matters, but the later ones are going to get further under the skin of the issue to look at the vested interests blocking progress and what action we can take to overcome them.
