Danny Chivers’ Evening – 20th July 2011

June 7, 2011 by GJ Cleveland

A book talk with a difference, featuring not just the latest science, politics and activism but also some unlikely good news on climate change, bits of slam poetry, and pub quiz questions, all geared towards figuring out our next steps in the struggle for climate justice.

“Feisty, thought-provoking and politically rounded…a seriously funny rising star” – New Internationalist Magazine

You can read the first chapter of the book for free online, here

and watch Danny in action here.

We had a brilliant evening with over 40 coming from different groups including from national WDM, Friends of the Earth, Co-op, Unison, church and workplace connections. The number of questions showed the level of interest. Looks as though we might end up with a few new members. It was good Danny sold out of his book.

Unfortunately the video files are too large to upload. So if you missed the event come and join us at our meeting on the 3rd October when we’ll have a look at the videos to remind ourselves what an inspiring evening it was.
