Public meeting with Fiona Hall MEP – 13th January 2012
You are welcome to join us when we meet Fiona Hall MEP to discuss the WDM food speculation campaign, on Friday 13th January, at 2pm in the Methodist Church Hall , Milton Street, Saltburn.
We will be looking at how food speculation affects the poorest in Third World countries. Basic foods that poor people rely on are being speculated on by traders to make profits, causing hunger and unrest around the world. Can and should the EU do anything to help to control this?

“Feisty, thought-provoking and politically rounded…a seriously funny rising star” – New Internationalist Magazine
You can read the first chapter of the book for free online, here
and watch Danny in action here.
We had a brilliant evening with over 40 coming from different groups including from national WDM, Friends of the Earth, Co-op, Unison, church and workplace connections. The number of questions showed the level of interest. Looks as though we might end up with a few new members. It was good Danny sold out of his book.
Unfortunately the video files are too large to upload. So if you missed the event come and join us at our meeting on the 3rd October when we’ll have a look at the videos to remind ourselves what an inspiring evening it was.
